For construction at an airport would be easier now and wide area for parking can be also become possible.
airport parking deals
Sam Andersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14407223020574478360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7044416767097884399.post-24513123780144899762011-01-08T16:25:59.050-06:002011-01-08T16:25:59.050-06:00@Test: Yeah I suppose I should put some of this in...@Test: Yeah I suppose I should put some of this into the wiki. Documentation is hard :) Also, that golf course is awesome. Wonder if they've ever had a golf ball ingested into an engine?

@Robert: That's awesome. And a youtube search for "fulton sky hook" returns several amusing videos. The first live test subject was a sheep, chosen because it has a "weak and delicate anatomy."

@SK53 yeah I see 6 uses of aeroway=airstrip. While this doesn't seem like a bad tag to use I am hesitant to change things that are already rendered on the map (even if sub-optimally) until there is some consensus and documentation on the subject.Toby Murrayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02477220676773608190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7044416767097884399.post-9651676485453888622011-01-08T09:19:08.323-06:002011-01-08T09:19:08.323-06:00Great post Toby. I've used aeroway=airstrip for a local little grass strip in a field of cabbages (http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/node/324351676), but hasn't really met with approval. Knowing about the airstrip really makes a difference if you're walking the public footpath at the E end of the runway when it's operational!SK53-osmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05611497805471433828noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7044416767097884399.post-46807791863517965662011-01-08T04:09:52.864-06:002011-01-08T04:09:52.864-06:00Toby you aren't too far off with your bungee i...Toby you aren't too far off with your bungee idea.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-EFmKr7P0w
http://silentwings.ci.lubbock.tx.us/images/Web%20Content/WWII%20USAAF%20Glider%20Aerial%20Retrieval%20System.pdf

These examples show glider pickups but they also had a system where they could hook up a wounded soldier for evac to a hospital.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09939974285732725319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7044416767097884399.post-13830807462152091392011-01-07T17:28:11.931-06:002011-01-07T17:28:11.931-06:00Very interesting indeed. If they're being used, then document it (too late for pointless voting). with notes to say "it's undecided which tag should be used but X is more popular" if need be. And then it could be a Project of the Week.

What's interesting about this airfield?
http://osm.org/go/erUlWYNm
Look at the data and you will notice some golf greens and sand bunkers! It's all very clear from Bing imagery. The navy might be even more displeased than usual golf courses if they catch trespassers though, so I don't have the hole numbers yet.Gregory Marlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16334702270634854614noreply@blogger.com
